Talking oral health and collaborative cancer care Video Guide

This is a video discussing the importance of oral health in cancer care and the collaboration between dental and oncology professionals.

Deborah Saunders, the medical director of the Department of dental oncology at the Northeast Cancer Center in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, talks about the oral complications that are among the most common reasons for patients to discontinue or delay cancer treatment.

The video also highlights a collaboration between the World Dental Federation, the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer, and the International Society of Oral Oncology to develop evidence-based materials for clinicians and patients to better manage complications in cancer patients.

The project includes a digital platform with risk calculators and patient information, available in multiple languages, to help dental and oncology professionals collaborate more effectively to provide evidence-based care for cancer patients.

Ensure that your staff are compliant with Dental HIPPA Training when working with your patients.
